The Fabulous Five. . . .

It was the onset of early morning and funny enough you would have thought it was 6am or earlier if it weren't completely dark outside. It was 2 am and I was awake (I am a 10 pm bed time gal), my neighbors were moving around aimlessly (as if that's anything new) and the bird in the front courtyard of my condo would not quit, (even though the songs were quite fragrant). I just finished watching the mildly captivating love story Pride and Prejudice and I began to think about some girlfriends of mine. I affectionately call us the Fabulous 5 (but they don't know that.)

Nevertheless, I was up and couldn't stop thinking about the past few "conference calls" that we've have (we have these calls at the very least once a month, lately we've had more.) The funny thing about the calls, is the process of getting us all on the phone the at the same time, the 1st time around. We are rarely successful the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd time around (many times we even have to postpone until the next day) If we are unsuccessful, the few on the call will just shoot the breeze for a little while, talk about everything and nothing, and then say our peace. When we all finally do get on the phone, we end up doing roll call to confirm that we all made it and that no ones cell phone got dropped. The whole process is actually quite humorous.

Anyway, the purpose of these calls is so one person (sometimes more) can tell everyone at one time what has been going on in their lives as opposed to having to tell each of us at different times. The past few calls have been bitter sweet to say the least. Some things have shocked me beyond belief, others have made us cry, some have made us laugh uncontrollably, some have made us rejoice in the Lord, some have called us to prayer and fasting, while others have left us contemplative. But, our time together is NEVER void of a level of encouragement that helps me and the others to keep going and to never give up as it relates to our walk with the Lord.....

It's funny this thing called life. We live, we grow and we learn only to arrive at the fact that it is only by God's grace that we move, breath and have our being and if there is one thing that I have learned personally over the past few months, it's that the spirit is willing, but the flesh is VERY weak. . . . . But even in spite of us however, I am convinced that God will and has and does continue to get glory out of our lives.

We've had some pretty "hot topics" of discussion lately and in spite of some of our set backs and set ups, I am convinced that nothing shall separate us from the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus. Even in the midst of what may appear to be chaos, some of the things that we've been through simply highlights the fact that we are not perfect
but rather clay in the hands of creations best potter. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit!

Anyway, This post is just a shout out to my homies and to remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made!

Have a good weekend! I am heading off to a wedding in Detriot tomorrow... Congratulations Tonya and Larrin!!!! God be with you!

Sandy, that is one special friendship group you have there!! I'm feeling a little jealous (in a nice way - if that's possible) :) But seriously, what a blessing to have girlfriends like that in your life!

Loved this post!! It was another little glimpse into your world that I really enjoyed.

Oh but I do have one bone to pick with you - how can you say P&P is just a mildly captivating love story!?!? That is one of my all time favourite stories - I border on being obsessed with it...Mr Darcy just makes me swoon! Lucky for my hubby he's a fictional character, or else we'd have issues :) My favourite film version is the BBC one, you should watch that if you have about 6hrs to spare (it's that long!!)

Hi again, Um, so ok...I decided to watch the new P&P yesterday since I still hadn't seen it and you were so right! This new one just doesn't cut it - such a shame cos it really is an incredibly brilliant storyline! Don't know if you've read the novel before, but if you have you'll see what I mean...and if you watch the BBC the difference is incredible, it is a masterpiece!

Sorry to hi-jack your comments with my P&P ramblings :)
