Baby Steps

Sometimes I am sooo BIG picture that I forget that I have to take baby steps to achieve my goals. Last week on Oprah this woman said that the 1st thing that she did was cut out soda and how much of a difference that made to her. At the start of this year I too decided to make some small steps. I now walk up an additional flight of steps at work to take the elevator on the 1st floor (I would talk all the way up to the third floor but the locked door is keeping me from doing that.)

I also told myself that I could not take the elevator from the basement unless I am injured. I am sure this will make a difference.

The next step is ensuring that I am drinking at minimum 64 oz of water a day. I will do this starting TODAY!!!

I’m also going to be sure that exercise two days a week… I always start of aggressively saying I am going to do it 7 days a week. (ok how realistic is that?) NOT!

Anyway, this weight loss thing is indeed a journey and I pray that I can stick to something to help be achieve my goals. When I see folk who have lost 100 pounds+ I’m like dang and all I need to lose is like 40 pounds.

I can do it, I know I can I just have to keep reminding myself to take baby steps!

Woo hoo! I can do it! Go head! Alright!

I know exactly what you mean about baby steps. In the past when I've tried to lose weight loss I've done the whole big jump into it and struggled after a week.

This time I decided to do things different. Each week I add two more 'changes' to my life and it's working. I'm losing the weight slowly...I should post about it sometime hey! :)

This is a nice reminder for me to take things slow. Being home with Hosanna (my 8-week old) the temptation is to think I can get everything done now, but I just can't. I think I'll try the two things a week approach.
