A Lesson From The Leaves. . .

I was outside yesterday taking the garbage out and as I looked at the beautiful leaves on the ground I thought about their dual meaning. While in one instance the fallen leaves represent death, they also, in another instance represent a newness of life. It's interesting to say the least this whole process where year after year and season after season the leaves of the trees loose their flourishing green color only to turn to hues of reds, yellows, browns and oranges and fall off to the ground. All of this, to make room for the new leaves to grow in the seasons to come. So it is with how God prepares His children. Sometimes He has to take us through some things and sometimes those events are not so favorable. During that process some old ways about us have to die before He can do a new thing in our lives.
If only like the trees, we can learn to surrender to that process by simply letting go and allowing our leaves, which represents our old nature to fall swiftly to the ground making room for God to bring forth a newness of life in us. We must also keep in mind that there will be a waiting period (winter) where God will have to prepare us. It's like a season of rest in some ways where during that time He is working things out in ways that we cannot see.
It's fall right now, and I can truly say that the events of my own life at this time are comparable to this season. Things seem like their dead and have no life, but I am determined to be encouraged knowing that God has a plan and a purpose that only I can fulfill in this universe no one else!
I pray that you are allowing Him to work out His perfect plan even in your life.
2 What's on Your Write Mind?:
What a welcome post this is, and a necessary reminder for us, too. May God's purpose for you and your life continue to unfold in His good and perfect time.
Blessings,
Michele
"His good and perfect time" is key. I think the time factor can prove to be our worst enemy when it comes to waiting on the promises of God.
