Sunday Duck Feeding and the Attack of the Seagulls. . .

The picture of the duck on Andy's blog reminded me of a story that after leaving it as a comment on his blog I thought I would also share with the rest of my small blogger world. (Shout out to my fellow friend Nikki who joined the blogger world.)
Anyway, the Sunday before last after church, I thought it would be nice to go buy some bread and feed the ducks down at Haines Pointe in DC. (I had the pleasure of doing this summer and I remembered it was fun to do as a kid - therapeutic.) As I approached the water I saw an abundance of seagulls yet only a few ducks. I then remembered that most normal ducks fly south for the winter. Duh!
So to get away from the gulls, I head over to the three ducks that were further away and I proceeded to call out to them in duck talk "quack" "quack" (I make a pretty good duck sound - Thank God no one was close enough to hear me) and I throw some bread out to them. Low and behold who starts hovering over me and swarming down to the water but the seagulls. There were so many of them it was unbelievable.
The thought of them attacking me was so scary that I threw a bunch of bread in the water and ran away. Mind you there was a couple out walking not to far away who found it humorous so I couldn't help but giggle a little.
Do you know some of those dag blasted gulls even had the nerve to follow me all the way to my car?
When I told my
friend Rox the story she reminded me of the movie Finding Nemo and the gulls that shouted out mine mine mine mine when they saw food. How true, how true...Anyway, I would pay someone to sell me the tape. You all would get a good laugh.
