If it Ain't One Thing

My neighbor (and friend) has been on travel for a few months now going back and forth to Charlotte NC. Because of the wear and tear traveling does to ones body, he decided to telecommute the past couple of weeks. He mentioned saving the company money but now he has to worry about a high air conditioning bill. (shout out to those who are braving the heat with no central air)
Nevertheless, he contemplated going to his local office, but then he has to worry about the traffic and gas going back and forth.
That made me think about how my "going green" has its own effects. (I'm only a light shade of mint green right now.) While I no longer use paper products to help preserve the environment, I'm creating more dishes, which means using more water. Hello, we are in a drought... Sheesh!
So what's a sista and brotha to do? It seems like when you give up one thing another is effected. I suspect we simply need to weigh the costs and do what's best for the time.
If it ain't one thing, it's another.... :)

6 What's on Your Write Mind?:
Hey Sandy! Yeah, you can't win. We can only do what we can for the environment. The good thing is that you are conscious about it.
Word! I hear you! thx for stopping by! :) Congrats on the new gig too! soo Exciting!
Too true - if it aint one thing it's another...but at least you're doing something and you care.
Guess what? I have an award for you - visit my blog to collect it :)
Had to come back and tell you that you made me do something different this morning...I read your post then headed out to do my groceries...at the checkout I was loading my stuff and realized I always use the plastic bags even tho' I have bought the environmentally friendly ones now and then (ours are green cloth ones, not sure if you have the same in the US)...anyway, so I looked at my groceries, figured 3 bags would do it, purchased the three and left the plastic behind. Now I have a total of 8 "green bags" in my house and they're going to live in the car boot so I don't forget to take them when I go shopping. Not sure if going green with my shopping bags will have an effect on something else in my life but at least it felt good today :)
go faraja. go faraja! get your green on. get your green on... I have a few of the eco-friendly bags as well. not sure if you all have whole foods down under. I got them from there... A lot of the grocery stores sell them now.. its cool. I use them everytime I go grocery shopping.. I get more stuff in them than the regular bags too. :)
Okay, I recycle! Does that count? Oh yeah...I'm one of those braving the heat with no A.C. That should give me a couple of extra points toward green. Heh heh!
Love,
Michele
P.S. Faraja, do you realize you're upside down?
