Exhausted....To Say the Least

I went to Atlanta for work and this was my first weekend home. (this picture is from the party put on by the local chapter of my org in Georgia) Anyway, because of my tiring work week there, I said that I was going to chill out this weekend but I'm not sure that I really did. My social calendar was more than I could handle and these very cool ok cold fall days nights took a toll on me.

My weekend began on Friday with a movie night with the girls. We watched Sense and Sensibility, talked, ate good food and had a good time. I went to bed however after 1am so setting the alarm for Saturday was not an option.

What the heck I was thinking when I went out to Fed Ex Field on Saturday night to see Common and John Legend I dunno? It was cold and I stood out there with my girls for over three hours. Did I mention that I stood the entire time? Not to mention (and I should have known better) their language and song content was to much for me to handle at times. (let's not go there).

Sunday morning comes and I go to church early so I could then go see my friend Alita who ran in the Marine Corp Marathon. She supported me when I went on my mission trip a couple years ago, of course I have to support her. So Sunday afternoon me and my friend John jump on the metro and head out to Virginia to check her out at finish line. Yeah, did I mention that there were like over 30,000 people out there and that MANY of the runners were taking the metro home. Needless to say to say trying to get home was a challenge. I was out there for over three hours. Did I mention that I was standing the entire time?

Sunday night comes and Andrea and I decide that we were going to go to the Rosa Parks viewing at the Capitol. "Let's go late, so we can get in and out" says Andrea..... I agree and off we go at about 9pm down to the Capitol bldg. The lines? OFF THE CHAIN. The Million More Movement had nothing on this. So we decide to humor ourselves and stand in line for a little while just so we can be a part of the experience. Well our little trip which started at 9pm ended up lasting until 3am. YES 3am. We got sucked in and we waited, and waited and waited. I swear when it was all over I felt like I ran the 26 mile Marine Corp Marathon.... Oh did I mention that I stood the WHOLE TIME.... Over 5 hours. Was it worth it? I suppose so. At least now I can add this to the stories that I will tell my children (when I have them).

I tell you all this to give you a glimpse into why I am sooooo exhausted. Anyway, I have a long week ahead of me so pray for me. I need the strength to get through it.

Peace

PS: I'll share some other pictures from my conference soon...

What a pretty picture of you! Glad you had such a good (but exhausting!) weekend. I think it's neat that you did the Rosa Park's viewing. I would like to have been there.

Blessings,
Michele
